NFS5-PU Craches on golden Era

When I reach the golden era and I choose the 914. if i go out of the game and load it again. the games resets to desktop. I have no conflict in my hardware.. I have Voodoo3 3000 agp. i have 128 MB RAM ECC. I have tried the game on three different computers, the same thing.. I have tried the original and a craacked version it's always the same...help please.
