A close ratio gearbox means that the gears are spaced close together to keep the engine in a higher rpm for more power, the low speed gearbox is one that is spaced regularly but at a lower speed. In my experience a low speed gearbox is all u need. And for circuit settings. Try slicks and to increase your downforce and decrease ride height. and shock stiffness higher. experiment with these.
