Always crash in menu NFS5

When I start NFS 5 the game and I go to the OPTIONS for setting something (CONTROLLERS for
example) the game crushes always after approx. 1 minute. It drives me to
dispair. Do you know how can I fix it ?

My system:

Intel Celeron 500MHz
Motherboard: MSI 6117 i440LX chipset
192 MB RAM (66 or 100MHz Bus)
Win 98SE
Soundblaster live
BIOS version 0.07.01
Nvidia Gforce256 (producer ELSA)
Detonator 5.30
