I used the 3.77 drivers on the NFS5 disc for my GeForce and it's worked fine since. The new drivers haven't corrupted any of my other games either (Q3A, UT, R6, Thief, SS2, Worms Arm., and many others) Evidently, these reference drivers aren't great with your board. I would go to your manufacturer's web site and get ones specific for your card.
