It's very strange you experience such low framerates! I have tested the game on several systems and the game runs very smooth at 800*600 +details max at a Celeron 400 + Voodoo 3 2000. At an AMD Athlon 550 system with TNT-2 card it's also very smooth at 1024*768, details on max and 32-bit color.

So I guess something in your system isn't configured properly...Have you installed Directx 7.0a and the latest drivers for your videocard? I should do that if I were you, since 20-25 fps isn't normal with a GeForce DDR!
