geforce 256

in my nfs:pu when i start a game it loads to the menu fine..but when I push the race button everything screws up, sometimes it will:
1.The game will exit out but the music will keep playing
2.The screen will black out and the music will repeat itself over and over, and i have to restart
3.It just pauses (freezes) after i push race, and i have to restart.

I have a Intell 700 mhz...I have enough of EVERYTHING is what im telling u, lol, to run this game. I believe its my video card though the Nvidia GeForce 256...anyone else have the same problem?
If so have u fixed it?
