NFS 5 problems

I use the Diamond Viper V550 graphics card with the Riva TNT 1 Chip on it.
When i start NFS 5 i can't use the main menu because the graphic of the whole menu seems to be damaged or something. No text or pic is like it should be !!!
Can anyone explain me why this happens ?
The first boot logo with the porsche looks O.K. but then :-(
